How’s it hangin?

Looong post so I am doing the more tag

I have not been updating any one site as much as I should, but if you follow me on all the sites I post on, I have been posting rather regularly. So hopefully you’re following me on all the things! I just added a tumblr link over there on the side as well as my other twitter. I have been busy for the past… forever. I often look at one thing – one site, or my stash of FOs that are for sale online, or the stock I have for Ramencon or the craft fair – and think “How have I been so busy when so little is done?!??!?!” But when I look at everything I’ve done, I see that I’ve done a lot.

I have not recorded an episode of yarncast in awhile, mostly because I just never seem to hit that sweet spot between having recently finished items to show that are actually with me (and not sold or otherwise sent away) and having time to record. I figure just showing pics and talking about non-yarn things that are keeping me busy is redundant and boring, because if you want to see/hear that you’re following me elsewhere. I do want to make some kind of video soon. But I’m not going to make any promises about what or when because I don’t know what or when I’ll get around to it.

Anyway. I’m excited for the rest of this year. Unless you’ve been living under a rock – a very large rock that blocks internet access – you know Sailor Moon Crystal starts July 5th and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be released November 21. It’s a good time to be an otaku in this world. It’s amazing to me how we have reached the point where we can have “worldwide” (okay, Europe has to wait a week to get Pokemon, but almost worldwide) releases like this. That I can support the anime and games that I love and not have to wait for fansubs, for imports to get here, etc. That my kids can easily watch REAL anime and not some watered-down or completely re-written dub. In my day, if we wanted anything better than that, we had to wait weeks or even months and then walk 15 miles, in the snow, uphill, to get to the post office and pick up a VHS of a fansub and an import game cartridge. And the VHS was horrible quality because it was a 5th or 6th generation recording of another VHS if you were lucky. So you counted yourself lucky if you didn’t have a seizure just from the quality of the tape, nevermind the anime itself!

So what else is hangin? I mean… uh, well you know what I mean. Yesterday was my birthday! I didn’t really get any presents, but I did treat myself to signing up to Kawaiibox a few weeks ago so that my first one would arrive this month. It’s taking its sweet time, though, so it’s not here yet. I’ll be sure to post a review when it does arrive, though. I also signed up for Reddit Gifts Arbitrary Day – which I always kind of consider one of my birthday presents – but that’s no there yet either >.< BUT I also signed up for the Reddit Gifts plushie exchange - because, come on, how could I not - and I got that the other day

12″ Shiny Charizard!

What I sent out was even bigger, at about 15″ standing. It hasn’t arrived yet, but he is on his way to a knitter in Finland who wanted a unique plush to cuddle with. So in the 1 in eleventyzillion chance that you are a knitter in Finland who signed up for the plushy exchange, look away…

Anyway, I also kinda made myself a present, which I haven’t gotten a chance to iron because the power keeps going out the past couple of days.

I’m also considering going to get some more Clover Soft Touch crochet hooks (in sizes I don’t yet have) because those mofos are awesome. I could make a whole separate post about why they are awesome (and you know what, I think I will, either a post or a video) but for now I will just say they are awesome and I want them in every size.

Aaaaanyway I think that is about all that is hangin for now. I’m off to craft!
