Sock Crush August 2016 – spoiler, review, and coupon code

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

As you may know, I signed up for Yarn Crush a few months ago and have been loving it. So when they announced their new Sock Crush box I had to give it a try! This month is the first Sock Crush shipment, and the one year anniversary of Yarn Crush. Read on to find out the details and what I thought of the first Sock Crush. Warning: spoilers!

First of all, the details. Sock Crush is a monthly subscription box that costs $26.99 per month (if you pay a month at a time – you get a discount if you pay for multiple months in advance) + shipping. I think shipping is going to be $3 per box (I got free shipping on this one) in the US, bringing the total to $29.99. Sock Crush is billed on the 15th, and ships on the 5th. Each box will include enough premium yarn to knit a pair of socks, a download code for a sock knitting pattern, and “most months” they will also throw in a small bonus extra.

So here’s what we got for the first month!

So, was it worth the cost? Turtlepurl Yarns + shipping would cost me $32.44. The Soak nail polish, as far as I can tell, comes in 4 pack boxes, but dividing the price by 4 means 1 bottle is worth about $4.13. The pattern costs $5.99. So if I bought all of these on my own it would cost me $42.56. Definitely worth it cost wise.

Do I like it? Turtlepurl Yarns has been on my wishlist for awhile, and I love this exclusive color. The pattern is perfect for the yarn. The Soak nail polish costs more than I’d normally pay for nail polish, so it is a nice treat!

So this box is a winner. I will definitely be staying subscribed and I’m excited to see what comes next!

If you’d like to sign up, head on over to the Yarn Crush site. During the month of August you can use the code HAPPYBIRTHDAY to get $15 off of any prepaid 3 – 12 month plan.
